2022 was a challenging year for the Canadian economy. Rising costs due to inflation have everyone focused on how their dollar can work harder and smarter. Yet amidst economic challenges and rising insurance crime, the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry is more focused than ever on how it can help Canadians weather the storm across 2023 and beyond.
As we embark on a new year, here at Équité Association we are poised to continue to provide our members with the best-in-class products and services they have come to depend upon, with a few new, and game changing offerings on the way. Our Fraud Analytics Team has been busy developing Canada’s first insurance fraud analytics platform, ÉQ Insights, to provide our members with more robust insights – from dashboards and visualizations to big data processing, real-time fraud analytics, and machine learning – to move the P&C insurance industry to a ‘predict and prevent’ model, and ultimately change the role of the insurer in the fight against crime.
This year, our focus is on innovation and out-of-the-box thinking. We are collaborating with our members to find innovative solutions to auto theft, and focusing on strengthening our relationships with manufacturers and government agencies. We are exploring new partnerships that will bring even greater value to the industry and consumers alike.
As always, our members are top of mind. In the coming weeks, we will be launching a series of Strategic Consultations with members to support our 2023-2025 business strategy. Rooted in our core values, these sessions will allow us to advance issues that are most important for the industry. We want to connect with purpose and raise the profile for Équité members, as well as amplify their efforts to protect their good customers from insurance fraud and crime across Canada.
While 2023 is only just unfolding, we know that insurance fraud is not going away. As we continue to grow and develop, you can look for us to represent the industry at key conferences and events across 2023. We are passionate about exchanging ideas and sharing our purpose with those in the industry and beyond. We are also planning strategic partnerships with members on fraud related campaigns, leveraging our mutual communications platforms to amplify our collective message and ultimately protect Canadians from our growing fraud problem.
At Équité, we are excited about the year ahead, and the momentum we gained in 2022 will propel us forward. The time is now. Join us on our journey to create amore equitable world for all Canadians and stay tuned to our LinkedIn and website for updates on what is to come across 2023 and beyond.
